RJ Muna Photography

Jodi helped me embrace my experience and go deeper. I didn’t feel scared, no matter how wild things got. She helped me to uncover a sense of purpose that I’m still processing, along with an uptick in my general outlook. The whole experience was physically pleasurable, which was a bit of a surprise.

What the rest of us see only under the influence of mescaline, the artist is congenitally equipped to see all the time.

I’m an artist.

I’ve been a professional artist for over twenty-five years, guiding over 300 artists, scientists, and technologists through my process so they could have insights which resulted in actual creative output. I happen to have a knack for helping people feel safe when confronting their demons and confident when accessing their inner guides. I am fluent in undercurrents. It is my experience that a small shift on a deep enough layer of the psyche, renders seismic shifts on the surface. The Mantle only moves two inches a year, yet results in all of the earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis we experience on the Crust.

Entheogens have been an important part of my creative process since 1997 when I first conceived of the mission of my award-winning arts company, Capacitor. This enduring creative work has held for over two-decades of artistic practice. You can see this creative work documented at capacitor.org.

Drawing on years of teaching master classes in dance, contact and theater improvisation, and choreography, I offer a fresh, embodied approach to the journey.

I am an artist in residence at the UCSF Neuroscape Lab where studies involve comprehensive observations of neural and physiological signatures before, during, and after psychedelic treatments. I keep up with the latest published research by regularly attending science conferences, hosting a think tank on psychedelics & creative process, and being in regular dialogue with leading researchers in the field.

Whether I am choreographing a full-evening show, designing a steel motion sculpture, or guiding a creative journey, I've always been concerned with experience design - how to deliver a particular feeling tone to audiences, participants and clients.

My experience as a dancer and more importantly as a dance partner directly supports my practice. I improvise with my clients to deliver the most embodied and physically liberating experience possible. This compound is Earthy and non-verbal by nature and I exploit this aspect to ground my clients in their bodies so that they can go deeper into their consciousness and nature.
